Updated: Jul 2, 2020

About Scapa Distillery

Scapa distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery on The Mainland of Orkney, Scotland on the shore of Scapa Flow close to the town of Kirkwall. Scapa is the second most northern whisky distillery in Scotland.

The distillery, established in 1885 by Macfarlane and Townsend, was during the 1950s obtained by Hiram Walker and Sons Ltd (presently part of Pernod Ricard) and reconstructed.

Scapa Elements ( From Website)

Scapa is a high quality single malt fashioned by the extraordinary components of Orkney. Whirlwinds fierceness and downpour fills our lochs and streams all over. Water from the Orquil Springs is utilized for the squashing and our rough atmosphere implies less soul is lost to vanishing, the unbelievable Angel's Share which typically asserts 2% of each cluster.

What Scapa Skiren Mean

Skiren means bright skies in Old Norse and ,apparently, that was the inspiration behind the production of this particular Scapa expression.

Orkney is a position of numerous differences – some of the time we get four seasons in 30 minutes, so we've figured out how to relish the experience. The regularly seething breeze implies hardly any trees can develop on the island yet Scapa refinery ends up gladly ignoring the white sea shore and the quiet waters of the normal harbor known as Scapa Flow.

Scapa Skiren Single Malt

It is developed in 100% first-fill American oak casks and packaged at 40% abv. This is the principal group, named "SK01". The bar had without a doubt been set very high by the 16-year-old, so how about we see what this, non-age proclamation (and clearly more youthful) Scapa brings to the table.

When the whisky advances into the glass, the room is as of now loaded up with sugary, sweet, botanical fragrances.

Taking a taste, I experience something very extraordinary. Loads of oak and calm pleasantness.

The completion is the thing that you would anticipate from a Scapa. Very smooth, yet not dull by any means. Bunches of blossom, that stay with you for a lot of time.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Delicate scented floral flavours with a hint of fresh pear. Sweet and fruity pineapple notes with a citrus tang.

Palate: Soft and silky, slightly spicy with toffee and oak! Quite sweet with baked apples, honey, citrus and more oak!

Finish: Medium/Long, more toffee, spicy ,oaky and dry. Really mellow with honey and layers of oak and fruit.
