Amrut Single Malt

AMRUT SIngle Malt ( Indian Single Malt )

The Amrut Distillery was introduced to world by Late J.N.Radhakrishna located in Karnataka, India. The Distillery opened as a laboratory in 1948 to produce distilled spirit for the Defense Market as a supplier of Indian Made Liquor.

Amrut Distillery started their journey with the production of RUM and BRANDY for the indian market. In 1980 the goal to offer quality products to market, Amrut distillery started distilling malt to produce high quality whiskies, and within two years Amrut became the first company to produce single malt whisky in india.

Amrut the word comes from Sanskrit which means 'Nectar Of The Gods'. The distillery introduced the first single malt in the year 2004 into the overseas market. The bottle was sent to the ' Café India', the leading restaurant in Glasgow, the heart of Scotland.

Amrut Fusion single malt was launched in the year 2009, Which was made with 75% unpeated malt from India and 25% peated malt form Scotland. These both malt were distilled separated and aged for four years and then both 'fused' together for further three months to produce this excellent Amrut Fusion Indian Single Malt. Within a year the Amrut Fusion became so famous and awarded as 3rd best whisky in the world by whisky guru ' Jimmy Murray'.

Amrut Fusion a rich whisky with a big nose of citrus. You can find so many fruit character like mango, peach, apricot with hint of cinnamon spice and peat over the nose. The fruits you can feel it over the palate too. The zesty fruit character with spiced notes and lingering long finish.

Personal notes: a vision from the founder was really great, and he has fulfilled that through all the hard work as india is not the country where single malt was exciting, and he has brought that single malt culture to india and successfully launched one of the best single malt whisky india has this time through all over the world.
